The Premier Choice for Early Childhood Education in the Shadowridge Community of Vista, CA
Thank you for your interest in Shadowridge Montessori School—voted Best Preschool and Best Childcare in North County. We are proud to be recognized as a Leader in Quality Early Education by the San Diego County Office of Education.
As a premier private school in Vista, CA, we provide a customized educational program for children from 18 months to 6 years old. We offer a customized English/Spanish Bilingual educational program that blends purposeful classroom work with real-world experiences, helping children become active learners rather than just memorizers. Based on the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) standards, our program emphasizes child-directed learning and hands-on exploration.
A Legacy of Excellence in San Diego County
The Shadowridge Montessori School leadership team brings over almost two decades of proven success in the San Diego area. We are the third campus in a prestigious family of private Montessori schools, such as Lifetime Montessori School, serving the Santaluz, 4S Ranch, Poway, Rancho Santa Fe communities since 2007, and La Jolla Montessori School, serving the La Jolla community since 2019.
With a combined enrollment of 400 children across our campuses, we have taken our decades of experience to create a state-of-the-art AMI Montessori school specifically for the Shadowridge and Vista communities in North County, San Diego.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to provide the Shadowridge community with high-quality Montessori methodology, and we look forward to working with you and your children." Founders of Lifetime Montessori School and La Jolla Montessori School

- Active Community Participants: Families and children who value their environment and each other.
Our Mission: Your Child’s “Children’s House” in Vista
Following the legacy of Dr. Montessori, who founded the first Casa Dei Bambini in 1907, we aim to make Shadowridge Montessori School your "Children's House". Our mission is to foster a nurturing environment that is physically and psychologically supportive for toddlers through kindergartners.
When children graduate from Shadowridge Montessori School, they depart as secure, independent, and joyful learners prepared for the next stage of their lives.
Dear Parents,
The Montessori approach to education is about cultivating a passion for lifelong learning. Our program prepares your child to become a lifelong learner, problem-solver, and good citizen.
Dr. Montessori believed we could cultivate this love of learning by offering children authentic learning activities, immersing them in a culturally rich environment, developing their love of learning, and permitting them the time and space to learn at their own pace. That is why it is our school’s mission to provide a nurturing, supportive and loving environment to support your children’s academic, physical and psychological make-up and social-emotional development.
Our Two-year old Toddler program serves children 18-months to 2-years old and supports the youngest members of our community in learning how to feel safe and secure at school, how to explore a classroom environment, and how to independently use the toilet. Once they master these skills, our two - three year old Children enter the Toddler environment. Then, when they turn 3 years old, they continue in the Primary environment through Kindergarten. Our Primary curriculum focuses on developing the young child’s concentration, communication, problem-solving and sense of self.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with you and your children to help create a new generation of leaders in a world that will need all our collective help.
Sincerely,
Sandrine Buntin
Director
