Montessori Preschool Benefits
May 1, 2023Welcome to our Toddler Program!
May 16, 2023Welcome to Shadowridge Montessori School! We are currently enrolling for our Primary, Pre-K and Kindergarten programs and have space available for your child.
Shadowridge Montessori School is a private Preschool, Primary and Kindergarten that provides early childhood education for children ages 18 months – six years old.
Our focus is ensuring that your child learns ways to become an independent child while building respect for others and a joy for learning.
The Montessori Method is about giving children the time and space to practice and master critical concepts. Here, students are observed and given lessons based on their interests. Thus, they work at their own speed to learn concepts, strategies and ultimately solve problems.
Our loving, enriching and cooperative environment will allow your child to develop into a confident, independent and joyful learner.
Primary students aged three to six years old start each day at 8:30 and 9:00 depending on their schedule. We begin with a three-hour period to work on skills and concepts they are ready for. Teachers give individualized lessons based on your child’s readiness. Your child practices until they have mastered the skill or concept before moving forward to the next lesson.
In our Primary program, students may be working on practical life skills, geography, botany, zoology, sensorial materials, reading, writing or mathematical equations based on their abilities and readiness.
During the first work period, students are offered school snacks. Once the period is over, children enjoy circle time followed by a half-hour of playground time. Parents provide lunches which we are happy to reheat, and lunch is eaten by 12:30 pm.
At that time, half-day students go home while full-day students are offered the opportunity to rest.
Since Montessori differs from traditional preschools, we welcome you to come and visit our school since this is the best way to observe teachers and students interacting in the classroom. It is our hope you will see how our educated, experienced and worldly teachers will build your child’s self-confidence.
Again, thank you for your interest! We hope you’ll take the next step in your child’s early classroom education as together we build students capable of leading us into the future.
Warmly,
Sandrine Buntin
