Welcome to our Primary + Kindergart …
May 1, 2023Let Toddlers Make Mistakes
May 16, 2023Welcome to Shadowridge Montessori School! We are currently enrolling for our Toddler program and have space available for your child.
Our focus is ensuring that your child learns ways to become an independent child while building respect for others and a joy for learning.
Montessori differs from traditional preschools because it provides a methodological, coordinated foundation to develop children’s skill sets based on each child’s strengths. That’s why it’s helpful to visit and watch how our teachers interact with children.
Montessori is about giving children the time and space to practice learning. Students are given lessons based at their own pace and are given the time to work out concepts themselves.
Coupled with our enriching and loving environment, your child will develop skills toward becoming a confident, independent and joyful learner.
Toddler students aged eighteen months to three years old start each day at 8:30 am. After a learning period where Toddlers work on practical life skills, art, music, language and motor skills, together they eat school-provided snacks. Since young people love working with food and post-meal clean-up, we offer them opportunities for both.
Snack is followed by circle time and then playground time.
Since language is key at this age, we focus on objects and cards that ensure communication with children using real words. We want children to communicate as clearly as possible. So, we spend the time necessary to engage them in conversation.
Parents provide a lunch box lunch—which we can reheat—and lunch is eaten before 12:00pm.
At that time, half-day students go home and full-day students are offered the opportunity to rest.
Warmly,
Sandrine Buntin
